We all browse on youtube and we’ve all seen the video ads that pop up on google and facebook, but how much do those really matter for your business?

-85% of people say they prefer videos to learn about a brand compared to another source. This is huge, because it shows that consumers may not read your “about us” page on your site, but they probably would watch a short, exciting video!


-Videos influenced 81% of consumer buying decisions. A rightly timed video might push someone over the edge to buy now, instead of buy later!


-Social media videos were shared 1200% more than other types of media. If you want people to do your marketing for you, video might be the way to do that!


-More video content is uploaded in 30 days than major T.V. studios have made in 30 years. So if you aren’t creating video content, your competitors will be.


-Finally, 90% of all content shared by users on social media was video. So if you want to become that viral brand, video is a good way to get people talking.


WHAT DOES ALL THIS MEAN?

Video is becoming the language of the web. It doesn’t have to be a ludicrously expensive commercial, even a short clip might be enough to start driving traffic. Something small and shareable might do just as well.


Even a single short video on your site might be enough to start building web traffic up. It’s an easier medium to consume than a long article or a flier that’ll be easily tossed out. Youtube is another good place to put content up. Posting on your Youtube channel increases your awareness on google searches (as you have more social media platforms out, thus giving credibility to your brand) and can lead to customers watching your information in their spare time if your content is engaging enough. Many Youtube channels for businesses create content engaging enough that people seek it out, rather than you having to make them watch it.


Video is great for information as well. Do you have a new location? Is there a new service that you guys are launching? A minute long video could be a great and exciting way to convey that. Further, posting links to your videos on the rest of social media/website will lead people to the rest of the videos you have created, which they might watch and ultimately engage with your brand. The more you're out there, the more likely people are to buy your product your service. Video can keep brand awareness in consumers heads, so when it's time to buy, they remember you.
